Artist Statement: Art is art. It’s all in the eye of the beholder. The vast amount of bad art in the market is proof of that. Bad art is something that I’ve endeavored to avoid. My work is maturing with time, just like me. I don’t wish to say anything with my illustrations wether it be political or other wise. Instead I try to convey an emotion, a feeling of romance. Our senses need to be stimulated. Sometimes gently and sometimes hard and direct. It’s like food. If you get a bland meal. It’s pointless to eat it except for basic substances. But a spicy taco gets your attention and stays with you. I’ve illustrated just about everything. Being in the commercial industry you have to be versatile. I’ve often been asked, “Why do you like to paint pictures of women?”. Well in a nut shell... Women are vast, unpredictable and mysterious creatures. (My male point of view of course.) Men are predicable. C’mon let’s face it. All us men really want is food, sex and a good remote. A woman on the other hand changes with the wind. I’ve taken my love for fantasy and Sci_fi art and incorporated it with pinup art. There are a lot of pinup artist out there. Some incredibly good. Olivia is a prime example. Who could forget Vargas. The problem is that 99% of it all looks the same. It’s gotten boring. I’m endeavoring to do something different with it. You either love what I do or you don’t. It’s no big deal. Except to me off course..
